Presenter Guidelines and Application

Thank you for your interest to present at the Ignite Your Spark 2012 conference. We are now accepting applications for the 2012 Ignite Your Spark on March 16-17, 2012 in Salt Lake City, UT. Applications will be received through July 30th, 2011.

Our Purpose: Heal the world by empowering every woman and teen to remember their greatness and brilliantly shine.

About the Ignite Your Spark Audience:

  • The 2012 conference will be the third annual year. In 2011, there were 225 attendees.
  • An audience of 250+ is expected for 2012.
  • 80% of the 2011 audience were local to Utah, 20% came from across North America. The projected audience will have a bigger draw outside of Utah as our brand is more established.
  • Aside from the main keynote presentations, there are breakout workshops available. Each breakout offers only two options so that the audience size stays larger, benefiting the breakout workshop speakers.
  • All sessions will be recorded and an audio version of the conference will be offered to the attendees and on the Illuminated Woman site. This gives the speaker a longer shelf life to a captive audience.
  • The demographic focus is women ages 25-54, with the average age being women in their 40s.
  • We attract women of all backgrounds. Most of the women either work in corporate or are business owners. while approximately 15% are students or stay-at-home-moms.
  • The average household income of attendees is over $60,000.

Selection Criteria

Workshops are dedicated to support women in claiming their unique gifts, life purpose, power and personal truth. We are looking for presentation and workshop content presenters who:

  • Possess strong teaching skills pertinent to each topic.
  • Introduce new, creative approaches to their area of expertise.
  • Have presentation experience in the topic area in which he/she is applying.
  • Possess a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Provides inspirational and experiential content to inspire women and/or teens to claim their personal power and truth.
  • Teaches and supports women and/or teens to integrate their truth into one or more specific areas including health/wellness, spirituality, financial wealth, career & business.
  • Introduces concepts and processes for women and teens to experience breakthroughs to remember & discover their truth and purpose; provide coaching and support to get participants to breakthroughs rather than breakdowns.
  • Have previous experience presenting to groups of 150 or more.
  • Is passionate about sharing their message of empowerment with women and teens
  • Is excellent at interacting with groups and providing experiential training and processes, rather than lecture-style presentations.
  • Easy-going, down-to-earth, authenticity and passion to share their transformational message is a MUST.

Speaker Guidelines

The available sessions at Ignite Your Spark are breakout workshops in the following topics:

  • Health & Wellness
  • Family / Relationships / Parenting
  • Personal Empowerment
  • Business & Career
  • Teen topics (self confidence, body image, empowerment, communication with parents, etc.)

Overall, the speaker:

  • Covers their own travel and lodging for the event.
  • Has a product table through the two days of the event. There are approximately eight hours of booth time during the two days.
  • May have the opportunity to sell pre-approved products during their 90-minute presentation. The pitch cannot be more than 10% of the total time so that the content is the focus of their time with the audience.
  • Is a sponsors and pre-pay for their spot. Rather than doing a revenue share model for the speaking slot, speakers are sponsors and therefore the speaker keeps 100% of all sales from the event. Please note that not all speakers will have the opportunity to sell from stage.
  • Is required to submit a 2-minute video addressing the audience that it used to promote the speaker on the event site and social media prior to the event. The video gives the attendees and prospects a mini experience of how the speaker will empower them to be part of the 2012 Ignite Your Spark movement.
  • Sends a minimum of two solo emails to their database and additionally promotes the event on social media. Email text and schedule will be provided for the speakers to use.

Additional Details:

Visual Aids: If you choose to have visual presentations, Multimedia presentations are preferred, please avoid using PowerPoint presentations unless accompanied by experiential exercises.

Content Guidelines: Discussing politics, religion, social agendas or what can be risqué topics is strictly prohibited. Using profanity is also prohibited.


Compensation:

Speakers Receive:

  • The opportunity to speak to a captive audience of hyper buyers.
  • One VIP ticket to attend the event ($497 value) and one General Admission ticket for a guest ($347 value). Up to two additional general admission tickets can be purchased for 50% off the regular price.
  • Booth at event ($495 value.)
  • Lunch on both days will be provided. Dinner on Thursday night (evening before event) and on Friday will be provided.
  • Hair and makeup green room will be provided prior to your stage appearance.

If speakers would like an audio or video copy of their presentation, they may purchase a copy for $250. This includes a raw, unedited audio and video version of their session.


Application Process

Please provide the following items (incomplete applications will not be accepted):

  1. Submit the application below online. If you have problems with the online application, email Angela at angela@illuminatedwoman.com to receive a Microsoft Word version of the application.
  2. Professional head shot; please include as a JPEG file. All files must be sent electronically, hard copies or files on a CD will not be accepted.
  3. Three speaking references from at least two event organizers of past events. Maximum of one reference may be from an attendee who is not a staff member, joint venture, coach, or family member.
  4. Outline of presentation; this is a brief outline and is held strictly confidential. Do not include any proprietary processes or information. This is for the committee to see your overall flow and the type of interaction we can expect from your session.
  5. 3-5-minute video clip of why your message is the perfect fit for Ignite Your Spark. This video should include a summary of your message and how it particularly applies to the 2012 theme. Videos longer than five minutes will eliminate you from the application process. Upload your video to YouTube and include the link below. Please make sure the video is set to “unlisted” so the committee can view the video. Please note, this does not have to be a professional video. We are looking to see your personality, charisma, ability to captivate an audience and passion for your message.
